Marengo PTA Fundraisers
There are many ways to help support your school just by doing the things you already do! These "painless fundrasiers" are SO easy and cost you nothing extra!
The PTA holds a few fundraisers throughout the year that bring in a large percentage of our funds. You can learn more about each of these on the Events and Programs page. In alternating years we have either a large gift wrap fundraiser in the fall, Innisbrook, or a silent auction party in the spring, Marengo Tango. Depending on which event we hold, the Jog-a-thon happens in the fall (on Marengo Tango years) and in the spring (on Innisbrook years). We also have Celebrate the Arts and Science Day in November and a Book Fair in both the fall and spring.
Fundraising
Fundraising provides the PTA with the financial means to support our school with educational and extracurricular programs- like Cultural Arts Programs, Physical Education Instruction and Curriculum, Shade, Art Happenings, current technology, and so much more! Without your support we couldn’t help provide these needed activities.
With eScrip.com you can register your Von’s Club Card and Marengo earns a % each time - you can also register your credit card and every time you shop at participating stores you’ll automatically be donating a percentage to Marengo. Don't forget: friends, family members, and neighbors, can also register their cards to benefit Marengo.
Here's how:
Step 1: Go to eScrip.com. You will need our school name or ID#: 137-235-605.
Step 2: Sign up your Grocery store cards. If you have a Vons or Pavilions card you will need the card number. If you do not have the card number, call 1-877-723-3929 to get it.
Step 3: Sign up your debit and credit cards with eScrip. Many local merchants such as Bristol Farms, Wild Thyme, and Charlie's Trio participate in the program.
Step 4: Visit the eScrip Online Mall if you shop on the Internet. Download Auto Earn to automatically earn money any time you shop online or use the eScrip Online Mall as a portal to earn instead. The Online Mall includes 100’s of merchants such as Amazon, Ebay, Lego, LLBean and more.
Step 5: If you don’t have access to the Internet, forms are available in the office that can be turned in during the school year.
Clip the Box Tops symbol off of participating General Mills products and turn them in to the school office or your teacher throughout the year. Even just at $.10 each, they really add up!
Bring in your used inkjet catridges and we'll recycle them for you, earning money for our school and taking care of the environment. They only accept cartridges that fit in the palm of your hand.
Freelanthrophy
Marengo Nights Out
Freelanthropy is a new way to earn money by using a Yahoo search engine designed for our school. Go to the Freelanthropy website and download the toolbar. For every search you make with Freelanthropy Marengo receives a penny, and many times more. Also check out the "shop and give" section of the site.
Each month Marengo will partner with a local restaurant or business, who will give a percentage of money spent on their meals or products directly to the school. You don't spend any extra, and Marengo makes money! Look for information in the Paw Print and weekly email blasts.
If you shop at Target, apply for a RedCard for 1% donation to our school. Designate Marengo, school ID# 36030.
If you have a Ralph’s card, sign up at www.Ralphs.com. Click on Community Contribution and use #84235 for the NPO number. Your card number is on the Ralph’s receipt.
Wish Night
Wish Night is a special fundraising effort that happens at Back to School Night in the early fall. All other PTA fundraising money goes into the general account to be spent, according to PTA membership vote, on programs and supplies for the school as a whole. Wish Night funds are donated directly to a particular classroom to be spent by that teacher on his/her students during the current academic year.
Our teachers do a fantastic job with the resources they have, but could in many cases do so much more with additional funds. For example, all field trips are funding entirely by Wish Night funds. Teachers create a list of their "Wishes" for a fuller year, and Wish Night is a great opportunity (and only means) of donating directly to your child's classroom to make those wishes come true! By the way, Wish Night donations are accepted throughout the year, but the earlier the teacher knows what is available to spend the easier it is for him/her to plan the year.
